I tried to restore my chats on my new phone once, which worked but all my chats were encrypted and got stuck on "decrypting" or letter sealing, so I tried again and found it kept telling me I had no chat history.

I logged in on my old phone again and backed up my chats again, successfully, but for some reason my new phone couldn't find it. I tried all their support steps, updating my new phone, keeping icloud logged in and the drive on, restarting my phone, reinstalling the app etc. And eventually they just tell me if I don't have a backup I can't get my chats back.

I ended up finding out myself that both phones need to be on the same version of iOS, so that includes updating the old phone too or keeping the new one on the same old version as the other phone. And it took me so long to be able to work this out where line knew nothing.
